Mekay's 1st life is about a five year-old city-girl who wants a cat - in the worst way!
Although I'm almost ten now- the girl in the story - and me have a LOT in common. We share the same name, have a family farm filled with cats down in South Texas and (on occasion) have encountered a tornado or two.

She finally gets the okay from her parents, but the trouble is, the cat she wants is 400 miles away on her great grandparents farm.

One weekend, Caysi and her Grandad take the long trek down to fetch her cat. Little did Caysi know they would drive smack-dab into a Texas tornado!

Meanwhile, down on the farm, Mekay (a young tail-less cat) has no idea she’ll soon be leaving her family. She squabbles with her brother Salvador, encounters a fearsome half-wild-cat named Socrates and tangles with a cat-eating Coyote named Specter.

One day, just before the big storm hits, Salvador (chasing a toad) gets stuck in a drain pipe. it is up to Mekay to rescue him while coyotes and a huge storm storm bears down on them.

Mekay’s 1st Life is an action-packed story - great for kids, and parents too. It’s fun and family friendly- answers some important questions about life plus .. it is illustrated!
